The Man Behind LionStrong

Paul Darby

Founder, LionStrong Over 60
At some point after 60, the world starts talking to men differently. Paul Darby built LionStrong around a very different idea: You are not done.

Slow down. Be careful. Don’t overdo it. Accept your age. And if a man hears that message often enough, he can begin expecting less from himself too.

At 68, Paul is still training hard, building muscle, improving his health, creating businesses, pursuing new ideas and looking forward to what comes next.

Not because he is trying to become 30 again — but because he believes a man can remain strong, capable, confident, useful, engaged and excited about his life for a very long time.

Paul Darby

That belief is at the heart of LionStrong.

A Lifetime of Building Strength — In People and in Business

Paul Darby has spent much of his life helping people become stronger, healthier, more capable, and more successful.

Long before LionStrong, Paul was already building a career around human performance. He has managed and owned gyms, fitness centers, and weight-loss centers in New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas, working directly with hundreds of men and women to help them improve their health, fitness, strength, and body composition.

Paul holds a degree in Sports Nutrition, graduating with a near-perfect GPA, and is also a Certified Personal Trainer. His work in the fitness industry has earned numerous awards and professional recognition, including his company being named among the Best Personal Trainers of East Texas.

But his background goes well beyond the gym.

Paul served as National Sales Trainer for Olan Mills, Inc., a Fortune 500 company, and later as National Sales Trainer for Metabolic Research, teaching, training, and developing people on a national level.

He went on to serve as President of The Genetic Potential Corporation and President of Paul Darby, Inc., building and operating successful businesses of his own and gaining decades of real-world experience in sales, leadership, marketing, business development, and entrepreneurship.

His experience in health, fitness, performance, and communication eventually took him into the media, where he appeared as a Fox News contributor, hosted his own radio program, and received recognition as one of the Top Trainers in Texas.

And then there is another side of Paul's background that is very different from boardrooms, gyms, and television studios.

For 11 years, Paul worked in executive protection, operating in environments where awareness, preparation, judgment, confidence, and the ability to perform under pressure were not motivational concepts.

They were requirements.

That combination of experience — fitness, nutrition, business, leadership, communication, personal development, and real-world performance — is what Paul brings to LionStrong.

He is not teaching from a collection of theories he discovered late in life.

He has spent decades training people, leading people, building businesses, solving problems, testing himself, and learning what helps a person perform at a higher level.

And now he is bringing those lessons together for men who have reached an age when the world often begins expecting less from them — but who have absolutely no intention of expecting less from themselves.

But LionStrong is not about Paul’s résumé.
It is about what a man can still become.

Paul has watched something happen to too many men as they grow older.

Their world begins getting smaller.

Fewer challenges. Fewer new experiences. Less physical strength. Less confidence. Fewer close friendships. Fewer things on the calendar they are genuinely excited about.

And eventually, a man who still has plenty of life left in him can begin living as though the interesting part is already over.

Paul rejects that completely.

LionStrong was created for the man who still wants more from himself and more from his life.

The man who wants to become stronger. Take better care of himself. Look better and feel better. Stay capable. Have interesting people around him. Try things. Learn things. Build things. Go places. Laugh more. Have stories worth telling.

And every once in a while, do something that makes another man his age look at him and say:

You’re doing WHAT?

That is LionStrong.

It isn’t a place for men to sit around discussing getting old.

It is a place for men who intend to keep living.

Men who still have goals. Men who still have curiosity. Men who still have some fight in them. Men who still have fire.

Paul created LionStrong for those men.

And he is one of them.

Welcome Home

Most men become old.
Some men become Lions.

If something in you is saying, “That sounds like me” — welcome home. Strength. Confidence. Purpose. Brotherhood. Adventure. There is still a hell of a lot of life available.
